Was Hunde nicht fressen dürfen

Für Hundehalter ist wichtig zu wissen, was Hunde ohne Bedenken zu sich nehmen können und welche Lebensmitteln für Hunde unverträglich oder sogar giftig sind.

Für Hunde giftig
Nachtschattengewächse
Zum Beispiel rohe Kartoffeln und Auberginen, auch Kartoffelwasser
Giftige Dosis: unbekannt, hängt von der Konstitution des Hundes ab
Giftstoff: Alkaloide
Symptome: Erbrechen, Schleimhautreizung, Störungen der Gehirnfunktionen

Rohe Bohnen
Giftstoff: Phasin, ein Protein, das rote Blutkörperchen verklebt.
Giftige Dosis: unbekannt, je nach Konstitution des Hundes
Symptome: Erbrechen, Durchfall

Schokolade
Giftstoff: Theobromin
Giftige Dosis: je nach Kakaoanteil 8 bis 60 Gramm pro Kilogramm Körpergewicht.
Es sind Todesfälle bekannt.

Weintrauben und Rosinen
Giftige Dosis: wahrscheinlich um 116 Gramm pro Kilogramm Körpergewicht
Folge: erhöhte Kalziumwerte im Blut, Nierenversagen
Symptome: Erbrechen, Durchfall, Lethargie

Zwiebeln
Giftige Dosis: ab ungefähr 5 Gramm pro Kilogramm Körpergewicht und je nach Konstitution des Tieres
Folge: Zerstörung der roten Blutkörperchen
Symptome: Durchfall, Erbrechen, blasse Schleimhäute, Appetitlosigkeit
Ob gekocht, gebraten, getrocknet, die giftige Wirkung bleibt erhalten.

Knoblauch
Giftige Dosis: 5 Gramm je Kilogramm Körpergewicht, bei Knoblauchextrakt gilt 1,25 Milliliter pro Kilogramm Körpergewicht. Das heißt: Für einen 20 Kilogramm schweren Hund könnten Knoblauchmengen ab 100 Gramm (ca. zwei Knollen) gefährlich werden.
Wichtig: Egal ob frisch, getrocknet, pulverisiert oder gegart – die schädliche Wirkung bleibt erhalten.

Rohes Schweinefleisch
Gefährlich: das (inzwischen selten gewordene) Aujeszky-Virus, eine Infektion endet bei Hunden immer tödlich.

Avocados
Giftstoff: Persin, es schädigt den Herzmuskel.
Symptome: Atemnot, Husten, Bauchwassersucht

Obstkerne
Giftstoff: Blausäure
Symptome: Erbrechen, Durchfall, Fieber und/oder Atemnot

Weintrauben und Rosinen sind vom Speiseplan des Hundes gestrichen: Sie gelten als giftig und können zu Erbrechen, Durchfall und Lethargie führen

 

Für Hunde schlecht verträglich
Knochen
in Zubereitung: gekocht, gegrillt, gebraten
Grund: Die aufgeweichte Knochenmasse kann splittern und stopfen.
Gefahr: Verletzungen in Mund, Speiseröhre, Magen, Darm, außerdem Darmverschluss

Knabbereien
Ursache: konzentrierte Salzaufnahme, die besonders für Hunde mit Herz- und Nierenschwäche gefährlich werden kann.
Folge: Der Blutdruck steigt, Herz und Nieren werden belastet.

Milch, Eis
Ursache: der hohe Milchzuckergehalt
Milchzucker kann im Dünndarm des Hundes schlecht verdaut werden. Die Folge für das Tier: Durchfall.

Butter
Kurzkettige Fettsäuren der Butter können schwer verdaut werden, mögliche Folge (je nach Menge): Erbrechen.

Rohes Eiklar
Das im Hühnerei enthaltene Protein Avidin bindet Biotin (wichtig für Haut und Fell) und verhindert die Aufnahme von Biotin im Körper.

As suggested by Dr. Dodd for years, the revised Vaccination Protocol for ALL 27 Vet hospitals will apparently be changing their programs.

This is welcome news and should be taken with you to your vet should you need reinforcement against over-vaccination.

VACCINATION NEWSFLASH [CIMDA support] Re: J Dodd’s vaccine protocol

I would like to make you aware that all 27 veterinary schools in North America are in the process of changing their protocols for vaccinating dogs and cats.

Some of this information will present an ethical & economic challenge to vets, and there will be skeptics. Some organizations have come up with a political compromise suggesting vaccinations every 3 years to appease those who fear loss of income vs. those concerned about potential side effects.

Politics, traditions, or the doctor’s economic well-being should not be a factor in medical decision.

NEW PRINCIPLES OF IMMUNOLOGY:
Dogs and cats immune systems mature fully at 6 months. If a modified live virus vaccine is given after 6 months of age, it produces immunity, which is good for the life of the pet (ie: canine distemper, parvo, feline distemper). If another MLV vaccine is given a year later, the antibodies from the first vaccine neutralize the antigens of the second vaccine and there is little or no effect. The titer is not “boosted” nor are more memory cells induced.

Not only are annual boosters for parvo and distemper unnecessary, they subject the pet to potential risks of allergic reactions and immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia. There is no scientific documentation to back up label claims for annual administration of MLV vaccines.

Puppies receive antibodies through their mothers milk. This natural protection can last 8-14 weeks. Puppies & kittens should NOT be Vaccinated at LESS than 8 weeks. Maternal immunity will neutralize the vaccine and little protection (0-38%) will be produced.

Vaccination at 6 weeks will, however, DELAY the timing of the first highly effective vaccine.

Vaccinations given 2 weeks apart SUPPRESS rather than stimulate the immune system.

A series of vaccinations is given starting at 8 weeks and given 3-4 weeks apart up to 16 weeks of age.

Another vaccination given sometime after 6 months of age (usually at 1 year 4 mo) will provide lifetime immunity.
